Discover the rich history, vibrant culture, and colonial charm of the Dominican Republic’s capital with a full-day excursion to Santo Domingo, the oldest city in the New World. Your day begins with a comfortable 2hr bus ride from Los Corales Beach to the heart of Santo Domingo. The first stop is El Conde Street, one of the city's most iconic spots, where you'll enjoy a 30min stroll through lively shops, local vendors, and colorful street scenes. Next, you’ll visit a local medical center for a brief cultural insight into Dominican healthcare practices, followed by a guided tour of Alcázar de Colón, the historic residence of Diego Columbus, son of Christopher Columbus. Spend about an hour exploring this beautifully preserved 16th-century palace, rich with colonial artifacts and stories. The adventure continues with a visit to the stunning underground limestone caves and crystal-clear lagoons also known as Los Tres Ojos (The Three Eyes). You’ll also pass by the National Palace, the official residence of the President, where you can admire the grand architecture. Around 12:00 PM, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you’ll savor traditional Dominican flavors in a relaxed setting. After lunch, there will be additional time to explore the colonial streets, shop for souvenirs, or simply soak in the city's energy. The tour concludes with a departure from Santo Domingo at 4:00 PM, followed by a comfortable 2-hour return drive to Los Corales Beach, wrapping up a day filled with culture, history, and unforgettable experiences.
